Uinta North Slope Summit Moose Hunts

Most of our moose hunting is conducted on the North Slope Summit unit. We are permitted through the USFS (Forest service) to operate in most drainages on the North Slope and are one of only two guiding services licensed to use livestock in the backcountry. Whether you use us, or another guide service, just make sure they are licensed to operate in this unit. The North Slope Summit unit has a high concentration of moose with exceptional trophy potential. We conduct summer pack trips and fishing trips all over this unit in the summer months, and always have an eye out for moose, especially the big boys. Our camps are set several miles back into the wilderness areas where only horses or hikers can get. Wherever possible, we use horses to navigate the more remote areas on the unit, and certainly to pack an animal out once we are successful. We also utilize roadside camps, and use horses to access the thick willowed river bottoms so you’re not getting soaked.

Utah's Wasatch Mountains/Central Mountains Moose Hunts

This is a giant area, but moose are not found everywhere. The camp we use the most is set near to one of the highest moose concentrations on this unit, and we have seen and taken some excellent bulls in this area. Wherever possible, we’ll use horses to access the more remote areas, and certainly to pack an animal out once we are successful. Moose are big and will take multiple heavy pack trips to get one out. So, we’ll have pack horses available to help if possible.

Utah Guided Pronghorn Hunts

Pronghorn

Our Pronghorn hunts take place on either the Plateau unit or the Book Cliffs Cisco unit. Both of these units have produced some great pronghorn bucks over the years with the Cisco unit holding better trophy potential.

Archery hunting is done by placing a blind beside a waterhole and waiting for the bucks to come to water. Shots are typically within 30 yards. On our rifle hunts, we like to hunt by finding the highest point possible and glassing until we find the animal we want to take. We then stalk in as close as possible before taking the shot.
